Somatic Movement Classes & Workshops 

Somatic exercises are movements designed to help us step out of thinking mode (mind) and into a feeling state (body) so that we can access a deeper knowledge of the stress we are storing in our bodies, as well as activate the process of self-healing and release it.

What you’ll learn in a somatic movement workshop:

  • Techniques that take your body out of the fight, flight or freeze response so you can step out of stress and reach the calm and relaxed state where healing occurs

  • Movements to help unlock the body’s most tense areas such as the neck, shoulders, back, hips, legs…let’s face it we’re tense everywhere

  • How to interpret your physiological responses - the language of your body - to develop a stronger mind-body connection and understand the root cause of your chronic mental or physical pain (sometimes it isn’t so obvious)

  • How to feel safe in your body and experience emotions as messengers, leading you to better understand where key boundaries need to be placed in your personal and professional life to prevent further supression

  • The process of “Unwinding” which is the involuntary movement that takes place as the body self-heals and releases stored and suppressed energy
